To the community of Kalaeloa. Mahalo for letting us serve you for the last two years. It was our pleasure.

We operated our last flight out of Kalaeloa on Sept. 6, 2016 ending our service of four flights a day to Molokai, with a connection to Maui after two years of service.

It was a difficult decision to end operations however that decision came after two years of monthly losses and we had to keep the best interests of the brand in the forefront.

We tried marketing and advertising via every possible channel we could think of. We did a commercial featuring Anuhea, Pandora Radio Ads, Chamber of Commerce Meetings, newspaper ads as well as community participation. Mokulele sponsored and participated in the neighborhood events such as their annual Christmas Parades. Unfortunately, we had to make the heart wrenching decision to end service so we can focus on our core and be able to remain profitable. We were honored to be the first scheduled airline to operate out of Kalaeloa. It takes years to change habits and we struggled to get proper signage, directions to the airport, brand awareness of the airport due to the fact that the airport had an awareness problem due to its multiple names (Barber’s Point, Kalaeloa, etc.). In spite of our best efforts we couldn’t seem to increase ridership to a level that covered our operating costs.
